While cutting off the UV and IR light and passing the visible light, it will reduce the temperature from the light source and avoid the harmful effect to the optical components because of the UV and IR light. So this filter is usually called heat blocker filter.
680nm UV-IR cutoff filter, as a lowpass filter, is also a basic component for CCD sensor color camera. To block the UV and IR light before the CCD or CMOS sensor, it can reduce the problem of false color and moiré affection, in the hope to reach a much clear image.
As a heat blocker filter, with a heat resistance substrate, such as crystal glass, it can resist high temperature at no more than 350 C-degree.
Application: digital camera, Color CCD or CMOS cameras, Xenon or halogen lamps, stage lamps, biomedical systems etc. |
