UV Longpass filter, a type of transparent filter with UV blocked coatings on the substrate, completely to block the UV light but transmit the Visible light and NIR light. By blocking the UV light, the image forming on the sensor can reach a more true color quality, because UV light usually bring a little blue color to the image. Also, UV filter, because of it is a transparent colorless glass, it is usually used for a covering or protective glass. If AR coatings added on the filter, a little purple color when look at it in an angle.
